Best Photos are up on Flickr

Steven the photographer, bless 'im, took about a thousand photos on the day (literally!) so we whittled it down to 250 or so, then picked the best of the best, and uploaded them to Flickr.

We're going to Thailand!

....to the Amari Vogue Resort in Krabi.

OK, so Tub Kaek beach is not quite as spectacularly stunning as Railay beach, but it's only a short boat ride to the jaw dropping limestone cliffs, and I'm sure we'll get some climbing done here and there...

Parking - and the lack thereof

If you're thinking of driving right down to the venue - parking is extremely limited and correspondingly expensive in central London, but here's a list of parking sites near the Registry Office.

An alternative, especially if you're driving down from the North, would be to park in the back streets near our flat - which is convenient for the A1, and most of those roads either side of the High Street are unrestricted on a weekend.

You can then walk to the tube (East Finchley station - 5 mins), where you can get the Northern line to Kings Cross and then the Circle or Metropolitan lines to Baker Street.

Cake!

We've decided on the cake - a four-tier Cortina sponge from Patisserie Valerie.

It'll have vanilla sponge, white chocolate cream, strawberries and raspberries, plus a layer of raspberry coulis, all covered in white chocolate.

Oooh yeah.....

...and a jolly good time was had by all!

Honeymoon Gift List

Well, the Sardinian villa fell through - the agent mailed us to say "I just got an email from the owner, and it's not available on those dates anymore - sorry!"

So it's back to the drawing board on the honeymoon.

We were also looking at our Amazon gift list and thinking "hmm, all the things we have on here are a bit on the expensive side..." so we now have a honeymoon gift list set up on Responsible Travel - at http://www.responsibletravel.com/giftlistlisaandalistair. Yay!

If you do make a contribution to the honeymoon, please use the voucher code WGL09ADLW so they give it to the right couple!

Cake?

I'm toying with the idea of cupcakes.....?

but maybe fiddly and nothing to cut, but looks rather pretty, will need to get cake boxes...

Or just a cake, with tiers that you can cut....

Any one know a good baker or patisserie?

Als Stag Do

So the stag do is Saturday 21st March.
It's early, but Dunc's move to Aiya Napa (Yay for Dunc!) and various people's availability dictates.

The plan is something like this - I'll fill in more details nearer the time:

1-2Meetup at Kings Cross
3pm sharpGo Karting in Tottenham Hale
6:30pmEat at Preem restaurant, 120 Brick Lane, E1
8:30Sohoho Comedy Club
12-ishGo to a club - The Borderline (£7 in), for that authentic "Tuesday night at Klute" retro indie feel :)
2-ishSee who's still standing, go to Bar Italia for coffee + more drinks or go home if incapable...

Go-Karting is BOOKED

Don't forget to budget for drinks and travel - £8 for a tube travelcard, but the tube stops at 12:30 so we'd have to get taxis back afterwards.

Hotels

There's a Holiday Inn just off Oxford Circus with rooms at £96 for a twin (2 singles), so if those who are travelling down don't mind sharing, that's £48pp.
Travelodge in Euston has double rooms for £86.

There may be cheaper hotels around, but these are a decent balance between price and distance.

We bought the rings!

Lise has a 2mm platinum band in a medium court profile to match the engagement ring, Al has a 5mm palladium flat court band.

Hotels Near the Wedding Venue

I thought I'd post a Google Map showing the hotels nearby, so here it is:

Half-price rooms at the Hilton Metropole Hotel!

My Mum tells me that the Hilton Metropole Hotel (which is just around the corner from the wedding venue) has a half-price room deal on the wedding weekend! She got a double room for £69 per night, which is not bad at all for a 4-star hotel in the vicinity of Baker Street.

Here's a map - the Registry Office is pretty much where Baker Street meets Marylebone Road:
